Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Hands On Pictures, Specs & Price: A Little Budget Beast

After being announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona last month, Lenovo brought the budget-centric device to India. The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes with a set of respectable specifications, and will be available at a budget price tag of Rs. 8,499. Let’s check out what all the device has to offer.

It is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 64-bit processor, which is aided by Adreno 405 for handling the graphics part. Besides this, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus has 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The processing part is similar to what we’ve seen in other similarly priced smartphones.

The front of the device is dominated by a 5-inch display Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display with a brightness of 450 nits. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, with Lenovo’s own UI on top, and feels very similar to most of the Lenovo devices we have seen in the past. The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes with dual-SIM card slots, and supports 4G LTE connectivity along with the basic Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS.

Lenovo devices have been known for their amazing sound output, and this device too sports a decent set of speakers. The back of the device sports twin speakers that come with Dolby Atmos technology, and PM8916 audio codec. While the speakers are quite loud and clear, but get muffled when the device lies flat on a table.

For the camera enthusiasts, it has 13 MP shooter on the back, that has an Omnivision OV13850 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 5-lens setup, and is accompanied by LED flash. The camera quality seemed to be quite good while using it for a short span of time at the launch event, and we’ll reserve our final verdict till we do a complete review. Also, the phone has a 5 MP camera on the front with f/2.8 aperture and 4-lens setup.

With a thickness of 8.2 mm and weighing 142 grams, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus has a 2750 mAh battery pack, which is accessible by the user. Similar to the Vibe K4 Note and Vibe X3, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus also supports TheaterMax technology for an immersive VR experience using the company’s ANT VR headset.  As of now, the device seems to be an all-rounder smartphone in the budget segment.
