Expected Xiaomi Redmi Pro Specifications for Indian Buyers

Xioami is going to launch Redmi Pro soon in India.  Redmi pro is the latest budget offering, which comes with a 5.5-inch fullHD OLED display and a dual camera setup at the back.

The past few weeks had seen a lot of rumors swirling around about the device, which many thought to be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. The handset was unveiled in an event in China alongside the Mi Notebook Air, Xiaomi’s first laptop which bears a striking resemblance to Apple’s MacBook Air.

CPU
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro comes with either the MediaTek Helio X20 or the MediaTek Helio X25, depending on the variant. Both have a total of ten cores (yes, ten!) in three clusters. There are 2 high performance Cortex A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz, four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and lastly four more Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5Ghz.

RAM
In what is slowly becoming a trend, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro comes with 3GB of RAM, which should ensure smooth multitasking. The top variant however, ups the game with a solid 4GB of RAM, making it quite future-proof.

Storage
The Redmi Pro comes with either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage depending on the variant, which can be supplemented with a microSD card.

Display
The Redmi Pro features a 5.5-inch fullHD OLED display which has support for the full NTSC color gamut.

Cameras
In what is the distinguishing feature of the device, the Redmi Pro comes with a dual camera setup at the back, with a primary 13MP camera with a Sony IMX258 sensor paired with a 5MP secondary camera that adds information about depth.

There is also a depth of field image processor to supplement the secondary camera. The front camera is a standard 5MP affair.

Battery
The Redmi Pro is powered by a mammoth 4050mAh battery with fast charging support.

Connectivity
On the connectivity front, the Redmi Pro supports 4G LTE, dualSIMs, VoLTE, 3G, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type-C for charging and data transfer and GPS/A-GPS.

Additional features
The device comes with an IR blaster and a fingerprint scanner at the front.

Pricing and Availability
The Redmi Pro will be available in three variants:

1. A base model with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and the Helio X20 chipset for CNY 1,499. (Approximately Rs 15,100)
2. A middle variant with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and the Helio X25 chipset for CNY 1,699 (Approximately Rs 17,100)
3. A high end model with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage and the Helio X25 chipset for CNY 1,999 (Approximately Rs 20,200)

The device will go on sale in China on August 8. There is no news regarding an Indian release, nor is it known which variants Xiaomi will bring to the country. Via – TechRadar
