Huawei P9 Specifications to look at, Premium Smartphone for Photography Lovers

Huawei is the same brand that manufactured the Nexus 6P for Google. The Nexus 6P is definitely a world class phone and you can tell by the looks that it is one of the most beautiful phones ever made by any phone manufacturer. The same Nexus 6P manufacturer i.e. Huawei has launched the whole new Huawei P9 which is currently one of the best smartphones in the market.

The Huawei P9 is an amazing phone and comes with some great cameras. Yes, I said cameras because it has a total of three cameras altogether. One front facing camera and two cameras at the back. I will explain the reason why there are two cameras later in this post. In this post, you will find out why Huawei P9 is one of the best smartphones right now.

Design & Build

Now that you know all about the specifications on this phone, let us discuss a few things about the design and build. This phone is a flagship from Huawei and it seems like it from the build itself. The phone has a solid metal body which means it is an amazingly sturdier phone. The body is metal and the edges are chamfered and it all feels so premium altogether. The front of the phone has a 5.2-inch screen and you will not find any sort of buttons in the front. The navigation buttons are on screen which is a good idea. On the top of the screen, there is an earpiece and sensors along with the front facing camera.

The back of the phone is where things get interesting. The back of the phone is very interesting and attractive. The first thing you will notice is the dual real cameras and the fingerprint sensor also sits at the back. You will also find the Huawei branding which is subtle and doesn’t interfere in the design.

Display

The display on this phone is one of the best things about the phone. The full HD display has a pixel density of 423ppi which is amazing. The display is very sharp and the colors are accurate as well. You can expect this from an IPS panel. The brightness of the panel is quite good and this makes the colors pop out. The display settings on the phone let you control the color temperatures and other settings related to display which is great.

Camera & Imaging

Coming to the main stuff, the phone has a 8MP front facing camera that works very well. The selfies are great looking and clear and now let’s talk about the dual rear cameras. There are two 12MP cameras which are engineered with the help of Leica. Now two cameras mean two sensors. One of the sensors is monochrome sensors and the other one is for color. This is a great setup that produces some really good looking pictures.

The monochrome camera takes pictures in monochrome while the RGB sensor captures the colors which result in great looking vibrant images.

Software, Hardware & Performance

The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which has the Emotion UI 4.1 which is Huawei’s very own custom Android skin on top.  This allows Huawei to customize the Android on their phones and add a lot of new features. All the Android features are available and on top of that, you get many Emotion UI 4.1 features. You get the amazing Phone Manager app which will give you better control over your phone. You can choose to tweak many things like battery usage, data usage and many things like locking apps using the fingerprint sensor.

The phone has a 2.5Ghz octa-core Kirin 955 processor which is Huawei’s very own chipset and it is very powerful. The phone has 3GB of RAM which is good and the result of this combo is a great performing phone. The response is snappy and phone feels like a premium performer.

Battery life & Verdict

You get a 3000mAh battery on the phone which is good and gets you through the day easily. The software is well optimized and it literally does not use any battery while it is in idle mode. This helps in saving the battery. But we would have welcomed more battery juice but maybe Huawei did compromise for this in order to keep the phone thin.

The phone is amazing and it performs well. The phone has not one but two great cameras, a great screen and top class features. It is priced at Rs. 39,999 which is a great price for a phone that provides so many things.
